Our Client

Our Client is Pfizer, one of the most prestigious multinational company in the pharmaceutical market. We are supporting one of the sites, located in Catania, supplying sterile FDA approved products through Aseptic Manufacturing, Lyophilisation and packaging activities. We are seeking for the Engineering Manager

The Role
The position reports into the Engineering, Maintenance and Utilities Director and is based in Catania.

His/Her main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Investments Program of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Site (Aseptic Environment);
  • Leading a team of Engineers, Project Managers, Contractors with a different level of seniority;
  • Responsible for the Capital Projects engineering activities from Conceptual Design to Validation in compliance with EHS, Quality and Budget requirements;
  • Assure proper design of equipment and package in compliance with EHS & Quality requirements and rules (cGMP, EHS, Construction permitting);
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Italian laws providing the related governance;
  • Ensure design of facilities and equipment for optimum operating conditions at economical cost;
  • Responsible for staffing, training, development talent within the Engineering organization;
  • Assure people technical skills development through professional courses and training
  • Responsible for environment and health and safety of Engineering;
  • Achieve PGS objectives related to Quality, GMP, Customer Satisfaction, right first time and cost respecting the PGS vision, mission, values and leadership behaviors;
  • Maintain organizational structure aligned to the demand of capital plan;
  • Making Decisions and Problem solving;
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems;      
  • Poised and firm behavior, equanimity when judging and assessing.       
  • Cultural and professional career updating vocation;   
  • Enhanced Ability to work to reach goals on an assigned priority basis.


  • University Degree in Engineering;
  • 10 years experience in Pharmaceutical Engineering and Maintenance;
  • Knowledge of the aseptic processes related to sterile injectables and GMP;
  • People Management experience: ability to lead and motivate, plan, organize resources and activities in order to reach assigned goals;
  • EHS knowledge (global standards and local regulations);
  • PMP Certification appreciated;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Ability to manage relationships with other Company functions and stakeholders (local, above site, SME global) and with external agencies;
  • Analysis and synthesis capability;
  • Ability to negotiate with other Company functions with the aim to resolve quality assurance issues.
